There are the people who always want to be the center of attention: if they go to a wedding, they want to be the bride; if they go to a funeral, they want to be the deceased!
That seems to apply to disgraced mogul rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs: if he is imprisoned, he wants to be the most popular inmate.
While that used to be the case, it’s not anymore, since a ‘greater name’ has gone into custody at the infamous Brooklyn MDC jail.
It’s been reported today that Diddy ‘throwing tantrums’ about the attention that accused CEO killer Luigi Mangione has taken from him inside the lockup.
And Mangione may well end up on the rapper’s ‘shit list’.
Combs was arrested on sex trafficking charges in September and became the most famous prisoner at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn.
But this was not to last, as Mangione, arrested for allegedly gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, ended up in the same jail as Diddy.
The New York Post reported:
“Since he arrived at MDC, Mangione — who is being held in protective custody — has become a sensation among other inmates, the Daily Mail reported.”
Mangione is getting a hero’s reception in jail, and that attention has angered Combs.
“’Diddy has been throwing tantrums over the fact that Luigi is getting all of the attention in prison and is being revered as a hero after literally murdering someone on camera’, a source told the outlet.
‘Even in prison, Diddy’s ego is bigger than life,” they added’.”
This situation is not surprising for a Diddy insider who commented to The Post.
“’He always wants to be the center of everything’, the former insider groused to The Post. ‘If he feels like anyone takes his attention, he doesn’t take it well. He gets pissed off, and if he has the power to do it, he makes the other person’s life miserable’.”
There’s nothing the rapper can do as he awaits trial for racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution, and is facing decades in prison.
Mangione faces life in prison on 11 counts, including first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism.
Combs and Mangione have the same lawyers but have yet to speak to each other.
“’He’s going to have [Mangione] on his s–t list’, says the Diddy insider. ‘He has to be the biggest star wherever he goes. It’s all that matters to him’.”
